2023 will mark the 10th season of the FIA Rallycross World Championship. The FIA World Motor Sport Council recently ratified a ten-round schedule for next year. The calendar contains some well known traditional circuits which will please a lot of Rallycross fans.
Coming back to Lydden Hill and Estering will also make the drivers happy. Mettet is not as traditional but was also good for a lot nice action. And it is great to see World RX go to different continents again. Africa will be represented by Killarney International Raceway. The track in Asia is still to be annouced.
The FIA Rallycross World Championship will consist of 8 events and 10 rounds. This means that there will only be two double-headers and we will see a lot traditional full-weekend race rounds.
The race format will change back to four heats and the grids will be decided by the results of the previous heat. Semi-finals and finals will be run with six cars again in the traditional setup. Superpole will be retained from the 2022 format. We think this sounds promising.
