The 2022 all-electric FIA World Rallycross Championship is facing a further delay with the postponement of the round at Nürburgring initially foreseen for July 30-31. Lånkebanen at Hell is Norway is now hosting the 2022 season opener on August 13-14. This change should “allow teams maximum time to prepare for the sport’s exciting new electric era” according to a media release of Rallycross Promotor GmbH, the promoter of the series.
The only recently added new event on the calendar at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain will be held as a double header as well as the postponed event at the Nürburgring bringing the number of rounds for 2022 to a total of 11.
