Double RX2 International Series winner Oliver Eriksson has been named ‘Official eRX2 Test-driver and ambassador‘ for the new FIA eRX2 Championship. In his new role the Swede will have a key position in the development of the new eRX2 car. Testing of the prototype so far took place in Spain most of the time where one of the technical partners – QEV Technologies – is based. The final car is set to be officially presented towards the end of this year but before Eriksson will carry out a number of tests on different Rallycross tracks.
It’s a great honour to be involved in this project. We’re going through a revolution in motorsport right now. The whole automotive industry is in the midst of a huge drive towards a more sustainable, environmentally-friendly future and we can’t close our eyes to that. The eRX2 concept is tremendously exciting and very much the direction in which we need to be pushing.

The new FIA eRX2 championship is a joint venture between Spain’s QEV Technologies and Sweden’s Olsbergs/MSE and RX Promotion, the company that operates the current RX2 International Series. It will be run by IMG, the promoter of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.
For it’s inaugural season, alongside the 2021 FIA World Rallycross Championship, a number of six European events are planned.
